Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

Well it's officially 2013! I thought I'd feel sadder (and maybe more panicked) about 2012 ending but it feels right. A new year will hopefully mean new opportunities and new experiences of the professional and personal kind. I'm ready for change!

I counted down to the new year with my family. Everyone came over around 8 and we spent those hours eating (I made pad thai!), playing board games, drinking and laughing. Maybe it's because we're getting older but I feel like we have this almost newfound appreciation for the time we spend together. I guess it's because it's not as easy as it used to be. In the last two weeks that I've been on vacation, I hung out with my cousins, friends, went out on my own, relaxed and just didn't dwell on anything. I really needed this time to rejuvenate and clear my head. But it's back to the real world tomorrow, so I plan to spend my last day of freedom acting like a bum and probably reading a book.

Book'ish Resolutions

I've already talked about my life resolutions for 2013, but now it's time to talk about some book'ish ones. I successfully completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 150 books and this year, my goal is 165. I think I can do it! Then I'm participating in the Debut Author Challenge hosted by Hobbitsies for the first time which I think will be a lot of fun too. In general though, I just want to continue to read amazing books and even though I think I hit my stride in the latter part of 2012 as a reviewer, I want to become better. Write better, get to know other bloggers, improve my site, maybe get the chance to interact with the authors I love. If you have any advice that you'd like to share, it would most definitely be welcome :)
